Welcome back 5-Star Bobcats,

It is my absolute pleasure to be the principal of the greatest students, staff, parents, and P.T.A on the planet.

My name is Paul Catania an I am both honored and excited to begin my third year at Bonner.  I hope that you all had a fun an enjoyable summer and are ready to embarq upon a new adventure together in the 2012-2013 school Bonner tremendous success, as we were designated as both a "High Achieving" and a 5-Star school during the 2010-2011 school year and were just designated as "High Achieving" for the secon year in a row!  Outstanding job team! This type of feat is only possible through strong ties with the school community and unbreakable bond betwen parents, staff, and students.  Bonner and the award winning P.T.A. have created a unique connection that has propelled Bonner to new heights.  Our vision is one of shared leadership that always provides a safe, engaging, and challenging environment for children that will provide every child "choice" in life.

Our school rules are simple, "Be kind and work hard," which are the only two things we expect from all adults and children that step through our front doors.  We only ask that every member of our school community does their personal best and never gives up in everything that they do.  The educational experience should be one that creates life-long memories and relationships.  Our mission is to provie an atmosphere for children that drives a desire, excitement, and love for coming to school each day.  There is no secret formula to achievement.  It is driven by hard work and dedication.  On that note, I thank Pam Truncale,who served as our P.T.A. president for the past two years, for her endless har work and dedication to Bonner and welcome our newly elected P.T.A. president, Angela Dimalanta, who is eager and ready to continue the tradition of accomplishment at Bonner.

We strongly encourage everyone to join an organization that has been intrigal in providing support and driving the success of our chilren.  Involvement connection are the keys that drive the success of our Bobcats!

It is my honor to be the principal of Bonner 5-Star Empowerment Elementary School, Home of the High Achieving Bobcats and I look forward working together with our school community to provide children with the high quality education that they deserve this year.

Thank you for being the best parents, students, and P.T.A. that a principal  could ask for.

Dear Families and Friends of the Bonner Community,

Welcome to a new year and great beginnings! My name is Angela Dimalanta and I am honored to serve you as Bonner’s 2012-2013 PTA President. I’ve been a parent at Bonner going on my 8^th year. My oldest child is a 7^th grader at Sig Rogich; I have 2 children at Bonner entering the 4^th and 5^th grades; and I have 2 more munchkins at home. We are definitely a busy family!

Because I am committed to my children AND yours, I have undertaken this step as your President to make sure that the PTA continues to provide opportunities for family engagement.

What this means…

• Welcoming all families into the school community;
• Maintaining effective communication between families and school staff;
• Supporting student success w/ programs that strengthen knowledge and skills;
• Speaking up for every child;                      
• Insuring that families & school staff are equal partners in decision-making (sharing power); and
• Collaborating with community.

These are PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.  If it does not make sense to you now, be sure to sign up to be a member and ask questions! We want you involved and you’ll see and feel the rewards for doing so.

Some of the programs we continue to provide and support include:

• Arts Alive and the Reflections Art Program
• Family Nights & Student Celebrations (DARE, Kindergarten & 5^th Grade Promotions)
• Accelerated Reader Program for reading success
• WATCH D.O.G.S., encouraging Dad’s involvement at school
• Muffins for Moms and Donuts for Dads, AND SO much more!

I am excited to get the year started and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible! I have a feeling…that this year is going be a great year!
