We are in need donations of individually wrapped candy and/or small toy items to be given out during the "trick or treat" part of our event. Please bring items in prior to the event! Please bring these in by Oct. 19th. Give the donation to your child's teacher or drop them off in the orange box, in the main hallway, marked “Trunk or Treat. Please bring Cake Walk Food Items at 6:30 pm on Oct. 21st. Donate 24 cupcakes, cookies or brownies for The Cake Walk. All items should be at the MPR by 6:30pm. Volunteers are still needed for trunk decoration, set-up, parking lot attendants, cake walk attendants, food sales, and clean-up.

All of the programs and events that the PTA puts on for the school are paid for via our annual fundraising efforts. Once again, we are holding an un-fundraiser this year. We ask that you fill out the un-fundraiser form that was available at Open House and send it into school with your children, along with your donations. If you did not receive one, you may pick one up in the office. Don't forget, every person who donates a minimum of $25.00 will get to "Cream the Principal." This event was a real BLAST last year! The creaming will take place right after school on October 14th.
The Bonner Spirit Day tee shirt and hoodie orders will be delivered to the classrooms as soon as they come in from the printer. We are anticipating students having their order by October 14th, at the latest. Unfortunately, there were some stock issues and production back-ups at the printer. With luck, the order will be delivered sooner. Thank you for your orders and your patience!
Donuts For Dads invites any special male person in a student's life to come to school one morning with their kids to enjoy breakfast treats and some time in the classroom. Donuts For Dads will be held on Tuesday, November 8th from 0:00 – 0:00 am in the MPR. Guests are welcome to stay for the the morning activities, which includes the pledge and announcements, and may then visit their student's classroom for approximately half an hour afterward. If you are interested in volunteering to help with shopping, setting up/serving and clean up for this special event please email Julie at email@example.com or text at 366-4661.
Would you like to become more involved in our school, and help out in other ways, besides your child's classroom? If so, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Desiree Vick at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will then be entered into our volunteer database and be contacted whenever help is needed at school. You can then pick and choose where and when you would like to help out. You do not need to be a PTA member to join our Volunteer Force. Bonner is a GREAT school, but we can't do it without our GREAT Bobcat Parents!!!
As many of you know, last year the administration and our PTA teamed up to create a drop-off zone out in front of our school. The d-o zone is run by staff, parent volunteers, and administration.This year, students may be dropped off in the d-o zone between 7:40 - 7:55 am. Please remember to pull your cars all of the way forward, so that we can keep the flow of cars running
smoothly and ensure the safe arrival of all students. If you are interested in volunteering for the drop-off zone, please e-mail Pam Truncale at email@example.com.
Thank you to everyone who braved the stormy weather and attended our Back to School Picnic on Wednesday, September 14th. A good time was had by all. We had refreshments for every season - frozen yogurt AND hot chocolate! Thank you to those who purchased their picnic dinners at Port of Subs. Our PTA made over $300 as a result of your support. Also, thanks to the many families who joined the PTA during the event. We raffled off more great prizes. It was a fun filled night, both inside and out...in spite of the weather!
This month, we are fortunate to be able to have two Bonner Family Nights! The first will take place at IHOP on Tuesday, October 11th. (9651 Trailwood Drive from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.). Our second Family Night will be at The Golden Spoon on Thursday, October 20th (3370 South Hualapai Way, Suite G from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Join your Bonner friends and families each month to enjoy a meal and have some fun! A percentage of your total check will be donated to Bonner Elementary.
We are excited to announce that this year, our PTA will be implementing this program at Bonner. It is a program designed to increase dads' involvement in school. We will be having a special "kick-off" event later this fall for dads, or any other adult male figure, to attend with their Bonner student(s). At this event, much more information will be presented about this wonderful volunteer opportunity! We will keep you posted.
This year, our PTA membership drive theme is "Be A Superhero In Your Child's Education... Join the PTA." Memberships are annual, so you must sign-up each year to remain a member of Bonner PTA. This year, we will offer a Superhero Party to all classrooms who achieve at least 75% membership participation. Anyone can join our PTA; children, aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents, neighbors, pets, etc!!! We welcome you all to our organization!
Last year, we had 506 members. We wish to exceed that amount this year, which will qualify our school to win another membership award! At this time membership is 390. That is only 120 away from our goal of at least 510 members!
We are really close to having 100% teacher participation, but we need more supporting staff and general membership sign ups as soon as possible! A teacher/staff basket of two movie theater tickets and a Gift certificate to The Cheesecake Factory will be drawn Wednesday, October 19th at 2:30pm.
The Grand Prizes of A Blu Ray DVD player, which has the capability of streaming movies from sites such as Netflix, and an iHome alarm clock to wake, sleep and charge your iPod or iPhone, will be drawn at Trunk or Treat, so get those memberships in ASAP to be a part of this awesome drawing!
